Texas A&M football has been one of the most dangerous teams to contend with on the recruiting trail so far this season. The Aggies have positioned themselves quite well for many high-level prospects across the nation, and they have already closed out on some of the big names on their board.
The Aggies have reached coast to coast so far this cycle, confounding in-state powers with their ability to get commitments from the top players across America. This nationwide recruiting strategy can be risky at times, but Elko is showing that he’s not afraid to try it.

A&M flipping Jonathan Hatton, Victor Singleton lands them on most significant flips of 2026 list
In a list of the most significant flips that have happened so far this season, the Aggies have actually made it on twice. By gaining the commitments of former OU pledge Jonathan Hatton and former Illinois commit Victor Singleton, the Ags have pulled off two top-100 defections in this cycle alone.
If Elko gets his way, they won’t stop there, either. Fresh off of his commitment to LSU, Tristen Keys— the nation’s top-ranked receiver— was in College Station earlier this spring. That’s another one to keep a close eye on as we trudge ever closer to signing day.
It seems like so long ago now that there were questions about the recruiting ability of this Texas A&M staff. The Aggies are showing that they can contend with— and overcome— some of the best recruiters in the nation so far this cycle, leading to what looks like it will be a special class indeed.
