The world of American football has a new name on its radar — and he’s still in high school. Seventeen-year-old quarterback Jalen Brooks has exploded onto the national scene after a jaw-dropping performance last Friday night, where he led his team to a thrilling 52–49 comeback win in the state semifinals. His highlight reel, featuring no-look passes, deep bombs, and a game-winning scramble in the final seconds, has gone viral, amassing over 3 million views across social media in just days.
Standing at 6’4” and weighing 215 pounds, Brooks already has the physical frame of a college quarterback, but it’s his poise under pressure and football IQ that have scouts and analysts buzzing. ESPN recruiting expert Tom Larkin called him “a rare talent with shades of Patrick Mahomes and Josh Allen — confident, unpredictable, and electric.”
Brooks completed 28 of 34 passes for 412 yards and five touchdowns in the semifinal shootout, adding another 98 yards and two touchdowns on the ground.
