During Monday night’s Wildcard Round clash between the Minnesota Vikings and the Los Angeles Rams, those frustrated with the lopsided nature of the rules were given another reason to be irked.
Early in the second quarter, the Vikings’ pass rush swarmed Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford, who dropped the ball
Minnesota linebacker Blake Cashman scooped it up and returned it for what was presumed to be a game-tying touchdown. However, after a replay review, the referees ruled that Stafford didn’t fumble the ball and had thrown it away near an eligible teammate, making it an incomplete pass.
The call left Belichick incensed. The six-time Super Bowl-winning head coach voiced his frustration on ManningCast, saying:
“It’s an offensive league. What are you guys doin’? There’s no rules to help the defense in the NFL. You can get away with that, and they call it an incomplete pass. It’s an offensive league. You guys should coach defense in the NFL; you’d know what it’s like
