Former Georgia quarterback Carson Beck is returning to school for a sixth season after committing to play for Miami (Fla.) in 2025 despite recently declaring for the 2025 NFL Draft.
Beck is reportedly set to receive a little over $3 million to transfer, roughly double the $1.6 million Heisman Trophy finalist Cam Ward earned through Miami’s collective, according to FOX Sports’ Bruce Feldman.
Beck announced the move Friday after reports swirled earlier this week that Beck had entered the college football transfer portal and was weighing all his options. Beck reportedly signed a grant-in-aid agreement with the Canes.
Beck’s girlfriend, Hanna Cavinder, plays for Miami’s women’s college basketball team along with her twin sister Haley. Two of the most prominent athletes in the NIL era of college athletics, the Cavinder twins were part of the Miami team that went to the Elite Eight in 2023. They announced they were returning for a final season in April of last year
