Last year’s winner Lionel Messi is nominated again after guiding Argentina to Copa América glory and winning the 2023 Leagues Cup and 2024 Supporters’ Shield with Inter Miami. He is the only nominee playing outside Europe.
Real Madrid’s Strong Presence
Real Madrid dominates the list with six nominees: Kylian Mbappé, Jude Bellingham, Vinícius Júnior, Dani Carvajal, Federico Valverde, and retired star Toni Kroos.
Other Key Contenders
Manchester City stars Rodri and Erling Haaland are strong candidates, while Barcelona’s Lamine Yamal and Bayer Leverkusen’s Florian Wirtz represent the next generation of talent.
